Planet Formation
How planets were formed in the Solar System, and how they form in general is still an unanswered question in today’s astrophysics. With the help of computer simulations, we can study the process from the beginning till the end, determine the planet formation timescales, understand how we get out different types of planets (e.g. rocky vs. gaseous planets) at the end of the same formation process.
